Steam Engines are tinker crafted items. You will need a recipe off the The Water Tentacle to craft them each time.

To utilize these, you place a steam engine of choice into your Boats Hold. Or the Galleons Hold. Your speeds going forward will be increased based on which engine is in the hold. These do not stack and will only go with the first one that was placed in there
